Abstract
[Journey for classical poets meant separating from the beloved and familiar places; it represented an external exile. For the modern poet, however, alienation is internal, stemming from either authoritative repression (the internal Other) or colonial repression (the external Other). The mind's journey parallels the real journey in the experience of exile. The article highlights the difference between political exile and romantic or existential alienation - despite their apparent intersections. It also examines the significance of the bird as a metaphorical correlative for the poet in the journey of exile through the works of a number of Arab poets. ﻛﺎﻥ ﻟﻼﻏﺘﺮﺍﺏ ﺍﻟﺨﺎﺭﺟﻲ ﻋﻨﺪ ﺍﻟﺸﺎﻋﺮ ﺍﻟﻘﺪﻳﻢ ﻣﻘﺼﺪ ﺩﺍﺧﻠﻲ ﻫﻮ ﺣﻴﺎﺓ ﺍﻟﻜﻔﺎﻳﺔ ﺃﻭ ﺍﻟﻘﺮﺏ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﻤﺤﺒﻮﺏ٠ ﺃﻣﺎ ﺍﻻﻏﺘﺮﺍﺏ ﻋﻨﺪ ﺍﻟﺸﺎﻋﺮ ﺍﻟﺤﺪﻳﺚ ﻓﻬﻮ ﺩﺍﺧﻠﻲ، ﻧﺎﺑﻊ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﻘﻤﻊ ﺍﻟﺴﻠﻄﻮﻱ ( ﺍﻵﺧﺮ ﺍﻟﺪﺍﺧﻠﻲ ) ﺃﻭ ﻗﻤﻊ ﺍﻟﻤﺴﺘﻌﻤﺮ( ﺍﻵﺧﺮ ﺍﻟﺨﺎﺭﺟﻲ )٠ ﻭﺗﺘﻮﺍﺯﻯ ﺭﺣﻠﺔ ﺍﻟﻤﺨﻴﻠﺔ ﻣﻊ ﺭﺣﻠﺔ ﺍﻟﻮﺍﻗﻊ ﻓﻲ ﺗﺠﺮﺑﺔ ﺍﻟﻤﻨﻔﻰ، ﻣﺜﻴﺮﺓ ﺍﻟﺬﺍﻛﺮﺓ ﺍﻟﺘﻲ ﺗﺼﺒﺢ ﺃﻛﺜﺮ ﻧﺸﺎﻃﺎ ﹰﺗﺤﺖ ﻭﻃﺄﺓ ﺃﻟﻢ ﺍﻟﻤﻨﻔﻰ ﻭﺳﺨﺮﻳﺘﻪ٠ ﻭﻳﺘﻨﺎﻭﻝ ﺍﻟﻤﻘﺎﻝ ﺍﻻﺧﺘﻼﻓﺎﺕ ﺑﻴﻦ ﻋﺰﻟﺔ ﺍﻟﺸﺎﻋﺮ ﺍﻟﻤﻨﻔﻰ ﺳﻴﺎﺳﻴﺎﹰ ﻭﺫﻟﻠﻚ ﺍﻟﻤﻌﺰﻭﻝ ﺭﻭﻣﺎﻧﺴﻴﺎﹰ ﺃﻭ ﻭﺟﻮﺩﻳﺎﹰ، ﻭﺇﻥ ﺗﻘﺎﻃﻌﺎ ﺃﺣﻴﺎﻧﺎﹰ٠ ﻛﺬﻟﻚ ﺗﺘﻨﺎﻭﻝ ﺍﻟﻤﻘﺎﻟﺔ ﺩﻻﻟﺔ ﺍﻟﻄﺎﺋﺮ ﻛﻤﻌﺎﺩﻝ ﺍﺳﺘﻌﺎﺭﻱ ﻟﻠﺒﻄﻞ ﻓﻲ ﺭﺣﻠﺔ ﺍﻟﻤﻨﻔﻰ ﻣﻦ ﺧﻼﻝ ﺗﺤﻠﻴﻼﺕ ﻋﺪﺩ ﻣﻦ ﻗﺼﺎﺋﺪ ﻣﺨﺘﺎﺭﺓ ﻷﺭﺑﻌﺔ ﺷﻌﺮﺍﺀ٠]
