Abstract
As the salinity of the water changes, the refractive index of the medium changes, affecting the transmission of light through the fiber. Thus, monitoring these light changes allows for accurate measurement of water salinity in real time. This article examines the use of D-shaped optical fibers as a promising and effective method for measuring water salinity by simulating the transmission of light through D-shaped fiber to find the response to the change in water salinity.
