Abstract

بناءً على رؤيتها بأن وضعنا الاجتماعي وثقافتنا هما جزء من هويتنا المعطاة التي قد تدفعنا أحياناً إلى إقامة حواجز تفصلنا بوصفنا إخوة وأخوات في الإنسانية، تتناول الكاتبة في هذه الشهادة المصوَّرة مفهوماً بديلاً حول هذه العلاقات. فمن خلال عرض تجربتها الشخصية في شوارع القاهرة، يرى القارئ كيف أثّرت هذه الخبرة في تغيير مفهومها عن العلاقات الاجتماعية من حولها. تتناول الشهادة كذلك تأسيس منصة «حكاوي القاهرة» الرقمية ، ورد الفعل الإيجابي الذي لاقته من خلال نشر صور مصحوبة بحوارات قصيرة مع ساكني أحياء القاهرة الذين لا يسلط عليهم الإعلام الرسمي الكثير من الضوء. تعرض المقالة نماذج ملهمة من هذه الحوارات والصور مع التعليق عليها.

Based on her view that social status and cultural background are part of our given identity, leading us to build barriers that divide us as brothers and sisters in humanity, the author presents an alternative view in this essay of visual story-telling. Capturing her genuine encounters with strangers on the streets of Cairo, this essay shows how this experience deeply impacted her on the personal level. The essay also depicts the establishment of “Cairo Captions,” a digital platform of in-depth stories and photos of Cairo dwellers, accompanied with inspirational examples of such dialogues and photos.
