Abstract

[This article delves into two French novels written by Moroccan writers, Une enfance métissée by Abdallah Alaoui and Le fond de la jarre by Abdellatif Laâbi. The authors, whose novels are set in the city of Fez at the end of the Protectorate, relay experiences of their childhood and early adolescence through fictional characters. While Alaoui takes us to the European city where his parents met, Laâbi brings us to the heart of the medina (Fez el Bali). Despite differences due to their antipodal locations, both authors tackle the same question: What confluences and gaps can be traced between the past reconstructed by historians and that transmitted through memory by writers? تتناول هذه المقالة روايتين بالفرنسية لكاتبين مغربيين، هما طفولة هجينة لعبد الله العلوي وقاع الجرة لعبد اللطيف اللعبي. يروي الكاتبان فترتي طفولتهما ومراهقتهما المبكرة من خلال شخصيات خيالية، وتقع أحداث الروايتين في مدينة فاس أواخر فترة الحماية الفرنسية على المغرب. تأخذنا رواية العلوي للمدينة الأوروبية التي التقى فيها والداه، بينما تحكي رواية اللعبي عن الحياة في قلب المدينة القديمة. ورغم الاختلافات النابعة من موقعيهما الجغرافيين المتباينين، يطرح الكاتبان السؤال ذاته: ما أوجه التلاقي والاختلاف بين التاريخ الذي يدونه المؤرخون وذلك المبني على ذكريات كتّاب الرواية؟]
