Abstract

[This article argues that Tunisian cultural journals of the mid-twentieth century complicate teleological narratives of decolonization, nationalism, and acculturation within cultural histories of the Middle East and North Africa. It considers how recent scholarship on the avant-garde and literary modernity, and the growing field of Periodical Studies, both contribute to and are complicated by this archive. It highlights three pivotal Arabic cultural journals published in Tunisia: al'Alam al-Adabī (The Literary World, 1930-1936), al-Mabāḥith (Investigations, 1938-1947), and al-Fikr (Contemplation, 1955-1986). The article examines the imbrication of the cultural journal as a polyphonic and interdisciplinary form, and the variegated theories of cultural decolonization it outlines. تتناول المقالة المجلات الثقافية التونسية في منتصف القرن العشرين باعتبارها عنصراً يثري السرديات الغائية الخاصة بإنهاء الاستعمار والقومية والتثاقف في تاريخ الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا الثقافي . توضح المقالة دور الدراسات الطليعية ونظريات الحداثة الأدبية ، وكذلك مجال دراسات الدوريات الجديد ، في هذا الأرشيف الثقافي . وتسلط المقالة الضوء على ثلاثة مجلات ثقافية تونسية : العالم الأدبي (١٩٣٠ـ١٩٣٦) ، المباحث (١٩٣٨ـ١٩٤٧) ، والفكر (١٩٥٥ـ١٩٧٦) . تحلل المقالة العلاقة بين المجلة الثقافية بوصفها ﺷﻜﻼً أدبياً ، بينياً ، متعدد الأصوات والنظريات المناهضة للاستعمار الثقافي التي تبنتها مجلة الفكر ﻓﻲ ﻋﺪﺩ ﺧﺎﺹ ﺻﺪﺭ ﻓﻲ ١٩٥٦ .]
