Abstract

[أدب الرحلات من أقدم أنواع الكتابة والتدوين التي عرفتها البشرية، كما أنه من أوسعها انتشاراً جغرافياﹰ. وبسبب هذا العمق الزمني والانتشار المساحي، تضم كتابات الرحلة مجموعة من أفضل المراجع عن الصحراء والتصورات المختلقة لها. إضافة إلى ذلك، فإن تعددية الأصوات والاهتمامات والتجارب - التي هي من علامات هذا الجنس الأدبي - تجعل منه مجالاً بينياً بامتياز. تعكس هذه المقابلة تلك التعددية فتطرح موضوعات مختلفة حول رؤى الصحراء في الشرق والغرب، وكيف اختلفت أو تماهت في الأجناس الأدبية والفنية المختلفة، وكيفية قراءة نصوص أدب الرحلة وتدريسها من منظور معاصر، تطويعاً لهذا الميراث الثقافي العالمي واحتياجات العصر . Travel writing is one of the oldest forms of reporting known to humanity, and the most geographically widespread. Due to its historical and geographical breadth, travel writing comprises some of the best records of the desert and the different perceptions of it. The age and range of this genre also accounts for the multiplicity of voices, interests, and experiences of the desert recorded by travelers from all over the world. This interview takes advantage of the multiplicity of perceptions recorded in travel writing as it pertains to the desert. It poses questions concerning the different perceptions of the deserts among travelers from both East and West and asks how to read and teach travel writing from a contemporary perspective.]
