Abstract

[In present-day Ireland–North and South–a number of authors set out to articulate the political, social, and demographic changes taking place on the island. This article explores a number of contemporary works: "Guess Who's Coming for Dinner" (2004) by Roddy Doyle, Open-handed (2008) by Chris Binchy, and "A City Loved" (2004) by Rosemary Jenkinson. The analysis of the three narratives demonstrates the shifting concept of identity in a changing society. ﻳﻌﺒﹼﺮ ﺑﻌﺾ الأدباء في أيرلندا المعاﺻﺮة - شماﻻﹰ وجنوﺑﺎﹰ - في أعمالهم عن المتغيرات السياسية واﻹجتماعية والديموجرافية ﺑﻤﺎ في ذلك حضور المهاجرين من مختلف أﺻﻘﺎﻉ العالم لهذه الجزيرة، بعد أن كان الأيرلنديون معروﻓﻴﻦ بهجرتهم من أيربندا إلى أﻣﺎكن أخرى . تحلل هذه المقالة أعماﻻﹰ مكتوبة في العقد الأول من اﻷلفية الثالثة لتكشف عن التغير فى النسيج الاجتماعي والثقافي الأيرلندي في الأعمال التالية: ﻗﺼﺔ " ﺇحذر ﻣﹶﻦ القادم للعشاء " لرودي دويل ورواية مبسوط اليد لكريس بنيشي وقصة " مدينة محبوبة " لروزماري جينكنسن . وفي هذه المقالة تتضح معالم تطور مفهوم الهوية الايرلندية في مجتمع متغير .]
