Abstract

[تحاول هذه المقالة استخلاص وتفسير نقاط الالتقاء والافتراق بين نصي روستان، الفرنسي الأصلي، وترجمة المنفلوطي العربية له، على مستويي الشكل والمضمون، ومن ثم الكشف عن الأهداف المختلفة التي وجّهت كلاً منهما. وعن طريق تحليل المتغيرات الاجتماعية والتاريخية التي أنتجت كلا العملين، تتتبع المقالة شخصية سيرانو واختلافاتها في النصين، وٳن ظلّ ما يجمع بينهما هو ٳشادتهما معاً بقيم ٳنسانية وأخلاقية عامة مثل كرم النفس والٳيثار والحب المنزﻩ عن الغرض، وكلها أمور تطبع العملين بطابع رومانسي مثالي لا ﻳﺨﻄﺌﻪ النظر، وٳن كان المنفلوطي قد أجرى بعض التغييرات التي أملتها تقاليد الكتابة العربية في عصره . This article explores the similarities and differences in content and form between Rostand's French play "Cyrano de Bergerac" and its Arabic translation by Mustafa Lutfi al-Manfaluti, in order to trace the different motives that have directed each. Examining the social and historical variables that have contextualized both works, the article analyzes the emerging Cyrano in each. The author concludes that what both works have in common is an interest in universal human values and an idealistic, romantic worldview.]
