Abstract

[In this testimonial essay, the author presents his experience in founding the Al-Rowwad Center in Aida Refugee Camp, Bethlehem, as well as its aim of providing Palestinian children with a safe space and the opportunity for self-expression. The aim of the Center is to confront the violence of the Israeli occupation beautifully and non-violently. The author illustrates the Al-Rowwad Center's role in resisting the media's stereotypical image of the Palestinian as a terrorist. Instead, the Center's experience is based on peaceful resistance: theater, folk-dance (dabka), drawing, photography, film, cartoons, etc. - artistic modes of rendering the true voice of the Palestinian people, the victim of occupation who refuses to be presented as a criminal. ﻓﻲ ﻫﺬﻩ ﺍﻟﺸﻬﺎﺩﺓ، ﻳﺘﺤﺪﺙ ﺍﻟﻜﺎﺗﺐ ﻋﻦ ﺗﺠﺮﺑﺘﻪ ﻓﻲ ﺗﺄﺳﻴﺲ ﻣﺴﺮﺡ ﺍﻟﺮﻭﺍﺩ ﻓﻲ ﻣﺨﻴﻢ ﻋﺎﻳﺪﺓ ﻓﻲ ﺑﻴﺖ ﻟﺤﻢ ﻟﺘﻮﻓﻴﺮ ﻣﻜﺎﻥ ﺁﻣﻦ ﻟﻸﻃﻔﺎﻝ، ﻭﺇﻋﻄﺎﺋﻬﻢ ﺍﻟﻔﺮﺻﺔ ﻟﻠﺘﻌﺒﻴﺮ ﻋﻦ ﺃﻧﻔﺴﻬﻢ ﻭﻣﻮﺍﺟﻬﺔ ﻋﻨﻒ ﺍﻻﺣﺘﻼﻝ ﺍﻹﺳﺮﺍﺋﻴﻠﻲ ﺑﻤﻘﺎﻭﻣﺔ ﻻ ﻋﻨﻔﻴﺔ ﻭﺟﻤﻴﻠﺔ٠ ﻭﻳﺸﺮﺡ ﺍﻟﻜﺎﺗﺐ ﺗﺠﺮﺑﺔ ﻣﺮﻛﺰ ﺍﻟﺮﻭﺍﺩ ﻓﻲ ﻣﻘﺎﻭﻣﺔ ﺍﻟﻨﻤﻂ ﺍﻟﺴﺎﺋﺪ ﻓﻲ ﻭﺳﺎﺋﻞ ﺍﻹﻋﻼﻡ ﻋﻦ ﺍﻹﻧﺴﺎﻥ ﺍﻟﻔﻠﺴﻄﻴﻨﻲ ﻛﺈﺭﻫﺎﺑﻲ ﻻ ﻳﺘﻘﻦ ﺳﻭﻯ ﺭﻣﻲ ﺍﻟﺤﺠﺎﺭﺓ٠ ﻭﺗﻘﻮﻡ ﺗﺠﺮﺑﺔ ﺍﻟﺮﻭﺍﺩ ﻋﻠﻰ ﻣﻘﺎﻭﻣﺔ ﺳﻠﻤﻴﺔ ﻋﺒﺮ ﻭﺳﺎﺋﻞ ﺗﺨﺎﻃﺐ ﺍﻟﻘﻠﻮﺏ ﻭﺍﻟﻌﻘﻮﻝ، ﺑﺪﺀﺍﹰ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﻤﺴﺮﺡ ﻭﺍﻟﺪﺑﻜﺔ ﺍﻟﺸﻌﺒﻴﺔ، ﻭﻣﺮﻭﺭﺍﹰ ﺑﺎﻟﺮﺳﻢ ﻭﺍﻟﺘﺼﻮﻳﺮ ﻭﺻﻨﺎﻋﺔ ﺍﻷﻓﻼﻡ، ﺑﻤﺎ ﻓﻲ ﺫﻟﻚ ﺍﻷﻓﻼﻡ ﺍﻟﻜﺮﺗﻮﻧﻴﺔ، ﻭﺧﺘﺎﻣﺎﹰ ﺑﺎﻟﺘﻌﻠﻴﻢ ﻭﺍﻟﻜﺘﺎﺑﺔ ﻭﺇﻳﺼﺎﻝ ﺍﻟﺼﻮﺕ ﺍﻟﺤﻘﻴﻘﻲ ﻟﺸﻌﺐ ﻳﻌﻴﺶ ﺿﺤﻴﺔ ﺗﺤﺖ ﺍﻻﺣﺘﻼﻝ ﻭﻳﺮﻓﺾ ﺃﻥ ﻳُﻘﺪﱠﻡ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺃﻧﻪ ﺍﻟﻤﺠﺮﻡ٠]
