Abstract

[In their book, Lettres parisiennes: Autopsie de l'exil, Anglophone Canadian writer Nancy Huston and Francophone Algerian writer Leila Sebbar exchange letters while living in Paris. The letters, written between 1983-85, are meant to uncover concerns of these two expatriates who have settled in France, and their sense of identity. The translator chose to translate the second and the thirteenth letters in the series, as they portray their trajectories. The two letters explain how the two writers came to live in Paris and write in French. They also present the views of the two writers on life and their analysis of "exile." They depict their positions on fundamental issues such as the relationship to the Other, their rapport with their children, and the impossibility of going "home." Despite differences in outlooks and approaches, these letters weave together two lives. The mirroring process creates a unique autobiographical text with two voices. /رسائل باريسية (١٩٨٦) تقدم جوانب من سيرة حياة كل من الأديبتين نانسي هيوستن (التي تنتمي إلى كندا الأنجلوفونية) وليلى صبّار (التي تنتمي إلى الجزائر الفرانكوفونية) اللتين تقيمان في باريس حيث تستشعران النفي في كل مناحي الحياة منذ تركتا الموطن الأصلى٠ ورغم إقامة كلتا الأديبتين في باريس، اتفقتا على أن تتراسلا وأن تبث كل منهما ﺃﻓﻜﺎﺭﻫﺎ ﻭﺁﻻﻣﻬﺎ وشجونها عبر تلك الخطابات التي تدفقت ﻭﺗﻮﺍﺻﻠﺖ على مدار سنتين (١٩٨٣-١٩٨٥)٠ كان الشعور المؤلم والمؤرق بالنفي وحالة الانشطار النفسي الذي تعاني منه كل منهما هو الدافع الرئيسي وﺍﻟﻤﺒﺎﺷﺮ للكتابة، وذلك كمحاولة لتجاوز ومواجهة تلك ﺍﻷﺯﻣﺔ: أزمة المنفى والاغتراب، أزمة ﺍﻟﻬﻮﻳﺔ٠ اختارت المترجمة نقل رسالتين لقوة الكشف والإضاءة فيهما عن مناطق واسعة من حياة الأديبتين المأزومة بالمنفى٠ تقدم هاتان الرسالتان رؤية كل من الأديبتين للحياة بصفة عامة، وتحليلهما الدقيق للمنفى بصفة خاصة، كما تقدمان ﺁﺭﺍﺀﻫﻤﺎ في موضوعات مصيرية ووجودية، كالعلاقة مع ﺍﻵﺧﺮ، علاقة الأم بأبنائها في المنفى، هجر ﺍﻟﻠﻐﺔ ﺍﻷﻡ والتمسك باللغة الفرنسية المكتسبة، استحالة العودة إلى الوطن، وغيرها٠ رسائل باريسية هي ﺍﻧﺼﻬﺎﺭ حياتي صديقتين حتى التماهي تقدم لنا في النهاية سيرة ذاتية واحدة ﻛُﺘِﺒَﺖ على هيئة خطابات ﺃﺩﺑﻴﺔ٠]
