Abstract
This projects tackles abusive methods used in parenting in Egypt. According to statistical research, 78% of children in Egypt suffer from physical abuse and 91% of children suffer from mental abuse. The campaign revolves around the idea of putting the audience in the place of a child through an experiential virtual reality environment. This is to create a sense of embodiment, allow the viewer to witness the abuse in first person, and understand its effects on a child’s wellbeing. It also provides a call-to-action for parents who tend to adhere to abusive parenting methods. The project aims to raise awareness on the dangers of toxic parenting in Egypt and prevent further damage to the upcoming generations.
