Description or Abstract

This is an audio documentary on food outlets that introduced new cuisines and new food items to the Egyptian market, and who succeeded and developed into big chains. The documentary is presenting the examples of Mori Sushi, T.B.S. (The Bakery Shop), and Nino's (Cupcakes and Pastry). The duration is 9:17. The interviwees are: Sameh El Sadat: co-founder of T.B.S. Mireille Aziz: marketing specialist at Mori Co. Suleima Ben Halim: founder of Nino's. The last decade has witnessed a remarkable increase in the number of food outlets and the introduction of new cuisines, foods, and dishes in Egypt. Some established these food outlets driven by mere passion, and others were also concerned about the revenue they may achieve. As a result of people's curiosity to experience what is unfamiliar and due to the exceptional interest Egyptians give to food, most of these food outlets have succeeded and many developed into big chains. Therefore, it is very interesting to know how they started, what they did when launching, and why they chose the cuisine or items they are offering.
