In this lecture, we celebrate and honor chair and professor of English and Comparative Literature, Ferial Ghazoul, who has recently been awarded the Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding. She narrates her experiences on collaboratively translating the works "Chronicles of Majnun Layla" and "Selected Poems of Qassim Haddad" with academic and translator John Verlenden, and explores the fictional turn in translation studies through discussing the translator as a protagonist in modern Arabic novels.
