About EHUB Podcast

Under the framework of the Egyptian Migration Hub (EHUB) project the Center for Migration and Refugee Studies (CMRS) at the American University in Cairo is hosting with the support of the European Union Delegation in Egypt a series of episodes with the aim of enhancing the knowledge on and raising awareness of key migration issues.

Officially launched in June 2022, EHUB aims at bringing together academics, practitioners, and government officials to discuss important topics of migration governance in Egypt. The ultimate goal is to support these actors in the governance process and support the exchange of experiences and information through policy dialogues and outreach.

Episode 3: The Situation of Urban Refugees: Cairo as a Case Study

In the third episode of the EHUB podcast hosted by Elena Hebraskey, EHUB Project Manager, our guest Dr. Jeff Crisp explains the difference between the conditions of refugees living in camps and refugees living in urban settings. With a focus on Egypt, he explains further the struggles and opportunities that refugees living in urban settings encounter.
