Abstract

My topic is about the factors influencing the success of T.V presenters. The study is based on the viewers' opinions and views. The viewers are different in their gender, age, social class, and education. This study is the first about this topic not only in the American University in Cairo, but also in the Egyptian universities. The purpose of the study is related to the importance of the topic which is related to the importance of the T.V presenters' roles in television and in programs. From the literature review, it is clear that there is a need to study the T.V presenters according to the viewers. Concerning the methods and models, uses and gratification's theory is used because the reasons of using television and the needs that are satisfied by television are caused by the T.V presenters. Also, the source credibility model is used because credibility of the T.V presenters is studied through the four factors that are put by this model. The factors are trustworthiness, objectivity, professionalism, and dynamism. Concerning data gathering, the survey research method is used through personal interviews with 480 subjects. The subjects are randomly chosen in Cairo from different gender, age, social class, and education. It can be concluded that personal characteristics or T. V presenters are the most important factor that positively influence their success. Also, it is found that directing, production, decor, the time of the broadcasting of the program, the content, the benefit from the program, the agreement of the opinions and thoughts between the T. V presenters and the viewers, and the guests are factors that positively influence the success ofT.V presenters. It is discovered that the factors that influence the success of T.V presenters are different f om one specialty to another in T. V announcing and presenting. Also, it is concluded that the factors that influence the success of T.V presenters are different from one viewer to another according to their differences in r gender, age, social class, and education.
