This policy brief is one of the outputs of the Academic Network on Mixed Migration in North Africa project, which was established by the Center for Migration and Refugee Studies (CMRS) at The American University in Cairo, in collaboration with the Mixed Migration Hub (MHub) hosted by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) under the framework of the Africa Regional Migration Program (ARMP), and funded by the IOM. The Academic Network on Mixed Migration in North Africa was established in June 2021, and includes leading academics and migration experts from across North Africa and Sudan. The aim of the network is to contribute to enhancing the production and dissemination of knowledge in the area of mixed migration with the ultimate goal of boosting the capacity of MENA’ governments to manage migration.
