Abstract

[.تتناول هذه المقالة «حربيات» الشاعر العراقي ﻣﺤﻤﺪ مهدي الجواهري (١٩٠٠-١٩٩٧)، أي القصائد التي كتبها في فترة الحرب العالمية الثانية. تفحص المقالة عن كثب العلاقة المتبادلة بين الشعر والتاريخ، وتأثير كليهما في الآخر، باستعمال أدوات تحليل نظرية التاريخانية الجديدة. ومن خلال تحليل معمَّق للقصائد، تعرض المقالة نضال الشاعر الخاص، ومراحل تطور إنتاجه الفني، وأهمية الشعر في تصوير إيديولوجياته السياسية وتوثيق التاريخ بشكل عام. تركّز المقالة كذلك على الدور الذي لعبه الجواهري بوصفه شاعراً جماهيرياً مؤثراً في حشد الشعب العراقي للثورة على الفساد من خلال شعره، وقدرته على صياغة الأحداث العالمية في سياق محلي يعكس واقع العراق السياسي ويشتبك معه This article tackles six World War II poems by Iraqi poet Muhammad Mahdi al-Jawahiri (1900-1997). Adopting the tools of New Historicism, the article examines the reciprocal relationship between poetry and history. Through a close analysis of the poems, the article chronicles the poet’s own struggles, the development of his artistic output, and the importance of poetry in reflecting his political commitments and documenting history more generally. It highlights the effectiveness of al-Jawahiri’s poetry in mobilizing the masses, and his ability to treat international events while situating them in an Arab context in order to reflect Iraq’s immediate political reality.]
