Description or Abstract
The aim of this audio documentary is to highlight the controversy that has been caused by the recent boom and popularity of the electro-Chaabi music in Egypt: whether it liberates people from the many restrictions they face in their lives or it is just trendy and short termed. This documentary presents the two sides of the issue at stake. People that contributed ti this documentary: Karim Omar Hassan, a young electro-Chaabi music producer and also a political science student at AUC. Shahir Nakhlah, a live sound engineer and a professor of Music Technology at AUC. Rana Gabr, the organizer of the Chaabi Festival recently held at AUC and also an Economics student at AUC.
