Tarek Swelim is an Associate Professor of Islamic Art and Architecture at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU),Doha. Among his publications is the monograph Ibn Tulun: His Lost City and Great Mosque (2015), in addition to numerous articles and book chapters such as "Al-Qala": A Lost City in Cairo.
