The Center for Translation Studies presents an interdisciplinary lecture by Dr. Gianluca Parolin, associate professor of law at the Aga Khan University’s Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilizations in London. Dr. Parolin discusses the issues that arise with translations of legal texts and the transformation of the semiotics of law drawing on his own research in a lecture entitled “Translating the Law: Tahtawi and the 1814 French Charter.”
