Abstract

[Drawing on Arnaldo Momigliano’s views to explore Islamic history writing traditions, this article compares three key texts in Daghestani Islamicate literature by Persian Azeri writer Bākīkhānūf (d. 1847), Lezgi polymath al-Alqadārī (d. 1910), and Qumyq (Turkic) biographer al-Durgilī (d. 1935), with a view to understanding how their authors conceptualized their roles as chroniclers of times past. The article examines the authors’ epistemologies in order to better understand how their cosmopolitan visions were shaped by Daghestani multilingualism. It demonstrates how Daghestani cosmopolitanism is linked to the antiquarian imagination, as theorized by Momigliano and other scholars. .بناءً على نظرة المؤرخ الإيطالي أرنالدو موميليانو للتاريخ، تتناول هذه المقالة التقاليد الإسلامية للكتابة عن الماضي، وذلك بمقارنة ثلاثة نصوص رئيسية في الأدب الإسلامي الداغستاني للكاتب الأذربيجاني الإيراني باكيخانوف (ت. ١٨٤٧)، وﺍﻟﻌﻼّﻣﺔ الأذربيجاني الليزجي الألقداري (ت. ١٩١٠)، وكاتب السيرة التركي الدُركِلي (ت. ١٩٣٥) بهدف الوقوف على تصور هؤلاء الكتّاب لدورهم التسجيلي للأزمنة الماضية. ومن خلال تحليل افتراضات الكتّاب المعرفية، توضح المقالة أثر التعددية اللغوية في داغستان في تشكيل رؤيتهم الكوزموبوليتانية، كما تربط الكوزموبوليتاني بالأثري في نصوصهم]
