Fontak is a mobile application that functions as a search database for Arabic typefaces. By spontaneously capturing a photograph of a typeface and uploading the image to the app, clients are given the name of the font, as well as additional data. These include information on the designer, foundry, weights, year of release, classifications, the website for reference, information about the font and designer, and much more. Fontak not only eases the process of visual research for designers, but it also helps bridge the gap between design and the Arab world; helps in keeping Arabic script embedded within the design community by easing the process of attaining information on the subject.
