Abstract

This project aims to revive the old traditional Egyptian tattoo culture which has been a victim of stigma for long which caused it to almost disappear. As fauna and flora have always been used as tattoo designs of said culture in the countryside, the goal of this project is to visualize certain Egyptian animals and plants, either existing in Egypt or present in Egyptian mythology, all in the frame of the new contemporary tattoo culture. Nowadays, the Egyptian public seems to be hostile and intimidated by the practice of tattoos. Therefore, the project focuses on creating an inviting experience to pique their interest towards tattoos thus reclaiming an important part of our cultural heritage and opening the doors to more creative possibilities for the Egyptian tattoo culture.
