Student Status

Undergraduate

Abstract

The project is an educational and inspirational illustrated guide on the Crafts in Egypt: providing a background on the techniques, materials, limitations, and availability. This would serve to facilitate communication between Designers and Craftsmen, as well as familiarize them with what happens throughout the craft’s processes. So that they are able to incorporate their original designs in the traditional crafts. This would ultimately help the crafts’ movement in Egypt through the collaboration between designers and artisans. Traditional arts and crafts have always been associated with the economic prosperity of a country. These crafts required a group of skilled craftsmen in various branches of art. Unfortunately, these traditional crafts are declining due to different factors, after it has been a significant source of revenue and richness of culture.
