Description or Abstract
The definition, importance, and views regarding mental illness has changed and evolved from one generation to the other in Egypt. It is so interesting to look at different approaches of mental illness as it actually changed from one period of time to the other. Instead of using sources, I decided to enter the field and start asking and interviewing close people about mental illness and how it was perceived. I decided to ask my grandparents, parents, one of my friends who’s an honor student in the psychology department and then add my own views of what mental illness is and how it is perceived. In this sense, I am examining the idea of mental illness and how it changed or stayed the same from one generation to the other
