The exciting mundane: A day in the life of an AUC student

Nada Mostafa, The American University in Cairo

Description or Abstract

Who am I? I’m Nada Mostafa, a senior Multimedia Journalism student at The American University in Cairo. How am I? I’m fine, I guess. Just drowning in workload and being constantly annoyed by my cat. Just the usual. Why am I doing this? This diary is produced for the Audio Production course in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at The American University in Cairo. The course is taught by Professor Kim Fox. Hanady Omran is the teaching assistant. Script: docs.google.com/document/d/1tIp-O…/edit?usp=sharing All sounds recorded using an iPhone SE. The #AUCdiaries project is an oral history project that documents the life of the AUC community. The project was initiated by Kim Fox in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (JRMC) along with Hoda Mostafa, Maha Bali and Nadine Aboulmagd, all from the Center for Learning and Teaching (CLT). The bulk of the content that was created for the #AUCdiaries podcasts was completed by students as part of AUC courses. As such, this is both a digital pedagogy project, since students learn while producing, and a digital scholarship project, since the output is considered to be digital scholarship.
