Description or Abstract

Climate change poses unique challenges to Egypt™s water sector, which is already studying potential impacts and adaptation measures. This is Part Two of a two-part webinar series. It begins with a summary of the first webinar. It then discusses how global climate models (GCMs) present future flows of the Nile River and how Egypt can prepare. Next is a review of actions in the agricultural sector of Egypt related to climate-related stresses. The following presentation focuses on coastal zones and climate change threats. A final presentation examines risks associated with extreme weather events. A question-and-answer period follows, including planning for next steps in Egypt national response to climate change. Nationally-recognized leaders in climate change adaptation present these materials.
